First, I want to thank you for visiting my page!
I’m just a girl who followed her dreams and turned my hobby into a career. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I started doing my own hair at the age of 10 and practicing on anyone willing to give me a chance! After graduating with a degree in business, I spent fifteen years in HR but still dreamed of pursuing my true passion, hair. My goal has always been to do what I loved for a living. After spending all those years in HR, and despite the naysayers I moved forward towards my goal with a lot of prayer, guidance and courage. In 2010, I opened my first salon in Cleveland and had much success.
In 2015, my husband and I decided to pack up and move halfway across the country to Tampa, Florida to enjoy a warmer lifestyle.
I left my salon, home and everything else I knew behind. Terrified and not knowing a soul, I began to rebuild my empire. To my surprise and with much determination, what took me five years to build in Cleveland, I was able to build within one. I was able to gain clients within my first 60 days working in another salon and within 90 days was able to take those clients and open my own salon, A Foreign Hair Affair. I opened A Foreign Hair Affair to service clients in a private hair care environment and after my first year reach capacity.
I'm a Master Stylist, which means I'm able to do anything. From Natural styles, weaves to relaxers and quick weaves to ponytails.
I take pride in continuously staying educated and staying loyal to a healthy hair care regimen. I was able to get to where I am so quickly in Tampa because I noticed a real need for my natural silk press, which was just in time for the natural hair movement. My natural silk press technique allows my clients to keep their hair natural, but also wear their hair straight. Clients have come from all over to sit in the Nish chair.
Currently, I also have LaidByNish Beauty Room to give ladies a one-stop shop for all their beauty needs. We have makeup, lashes, braids, brows and more! I’m also a hair distributor and provide hair from some of the finest raw temples you can find. I’ve also sold virgin hair for over 8 years. My focus is always on high quality raw and virgin hair. – Specializing in U-parts and full units.
I'm excited to start building the LBN brand and in the future, plan to do more to educate up and coming stylists. Be on the look out for hair products, makeup, classes and more. I'm excited to share my journey with you all!
